Let us plan your best holidays

A relatively new tourist destination, Ladakh, over the last decade, has grown into the most sought after summer destination. Although the primary season for exploring Ladakh is a short five-month-period time between May and September, the amount of travellers that flock the region are almost equal to some of the traditionally popular destinations around the country. Connected by air throughout the year, Ladakh is accessible by road only during the Summer-Monsoon time.

Ladakh; The land of high passes, has some of the most unique landscapes all around the world. Essentially a cold desert, Ladakh is home to a few of the highest motorable passes on the planet. Along with high altitude passes, the place is also popular for pristine lakes and Himalayan rivers. The Union Territory is rich on food and culure – prmarily influenced by Buddhism. During the six day itinerary, you will be able to experiece a lot of what this Himalayan wonderland has to offer.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Leh | Transfer to Hotel

After arriving at the Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, you will be meeting our representative who will escort you to your pre-booked hotel. Now it’s very important that you take proper rest for sometime before thinking about venturing out to explore the city. Located at an altitude of 3505 metres, the oxygen is very thin here so you will have to take extra precaution in terms of staying hyderated and being well rested. Dinner will be served at the hotel. Stay overnight.

Day 02: Leh Exploration | Local Sightseeing

Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready to explore the various sights of attraction that the city has to offer. You will first head to the Indus-Zanskar Sangam (confluence) by driving east along the majestic Indus river. If time permits, you may also indulge in some white water rafting on the mighty Indus. Some of the other popular places to visit around the city are Leh Palace, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and the Magnetic Hill. Later in the day, take a stroll around the bustling bazaar and have a taste of some souvenier shopping along with some of the local delicacies. Stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Leh to Nubra Valley | Approx. 6 Hours

Today, after having an early breakfast, you will be going on an epic drive to a place called Nubra Valley. Although the distance is a mere 160km, the drive takes around six to seven hours considerig the rough terrain and unpredictable weather conditions. During the rather adventurous journey, you will be crossing the world’s highest motorable pass – Khardung La (5359mt). On arrival, check into the hotel/campsite and get some rest. Later, go for a short excursion to Hunder – a gorgeous village known for sand dunes and Bactraian camels. Stay overnight.

Day 04: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake | Approx. 7 Hours

Have a scrumptious breakfast and get ready to drive to the most photographed destination in Ladakh – Pangong Tso. Compared to the drive yesterday, today’s ride will be relatively relaxed as you will not be crossing any high altitude passes. Midway through the drive, you will be driving through one of the most picturesque valleys in the entire Himalayas – Shyok Valley. A lot of the ride is going to be alongside the Shyok river and through villages like Agham, Shyok, Durbuk and Tangste. Arrive at the shimmering lake and click some pictures with a lot of blue in the background. Stay overnight in tents.

Day 05: Pangong to Leh | Approx. 5 Hours
